Died Dec. 2, 2006
Dorothy Ann Jones, 65, 200 Ervin Drive, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Battleboro and attended Edgecombe County Public Schools. Mrs. Jones was a child provider at Mount Zion Church Ministries and worked for Wayne County Public Schools.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Gladys Reid; three sisters, Shirley Blake, Mavis Reid and Geneva McGowan; three brothers, Curtis, Charles and Jesse Reid Jr.
Funeral service will be Saturday at Mount Zion Church, 323 Whitfield Drive, Goldsboro, at 11 a.m. with Apostle Tino Bell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Swamp Cemetery, Eureka.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin Jones Sr., of the home; three sons, Jerome Jones of Accokeek, Md., Franklin Jones Jr. of Goldsboro, and Artie Jones of Raleigh; three daughters, Pamela Bryant of Leland, Patricia Smith and LaShawn Jones of Goldsboro; two sisters, Mary Burney of Washington, D.C., Earlene Barrett of Suitland, Md., two brothers, Rudolph and Clarence Reid of Washington, D.C.; 11 grandchildren, LaShonda Jones, Chris Jones, Preston Chesnutt, Kendra Bryant, Kevin Jones, Majesti Smith, Carlton Jones Jr., Paris Jones, Teela Jones, Earl Bryant Jr., and Telecia Burden; five great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro.
