MOUNT OLIVE - Jimmy Eric Stevens, 46, died Friday at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. He was a native of Wayne County and attended Wayne County Public Schools.
Funeral service will be Thursday at Northeast Chapel FWB Church, E. James St., with the Rev. Cliff Hunt officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Hattie Lucille Stevens of Mount Olive; two brothers, Bennie Stevens Jr., and Samuel Stevens; one sister, Jacqueline Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Christine Stevens of the home; a son, Lamont Armwood of Dudley; two daughters, Sophea Kornegay of Mount Olive and Jerrica Armwood of Dudley; four brothers, Bobby and Jerry Stevens, Kerry Lofton, all of Mount Olive, and Elder Demaris Terry Stevens of Wilson; four sisters, Gwendolyn Stevens and Katherine Mumford of Mount Olive, Brenda Burton of Goldsboro, and Ella Pou of Fayetteville; two grandchildren.
