Charlotte Smith Johnson, 88, died Sunday at the Brian Center.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Wayne County to the late Jasper and Eula Parks Smith. She was married to the late Willie Gay and Clifton Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of New Hope Friends Church.

Funeral services will be tonight at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Garner and Wayne Allman officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Selma Memorial Gardens with her grandson, the Rev. Timothy Grant officiating.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Grant and husband, Billy, of Goldsboro; her sisters, Sarah Taylor of Goldsboro and Marjorie Newsome and husband, Lenwood, of Goldsboro; her brother, Russell P. Smith and wife, Joyce, of Goldsboro; her sister-in-law, Betty Gene Smith of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Timothy Grant and wife, Katherine, of Greensboro, Steven Grant and Robin Carmack and husband, Dr. Kilauea Carmack, of Goldsboro; her great-grandchildren, Cary Ann Kornegay and husband, Kevin, of Mount Olive, Kaitlyn Grant of Greensboro and Caleb Grant of Greensboro; and a great-great-granddaughter, Char-lotte Kornegay.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jenelle McCullen and a brother, Elwood Lee Smith.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to New Hope Friends Church, 4451 East U.S. Highway 70, Goldsboro, 27530.

The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 854 NC 111 Highway South, Goldsboro.
