LAURA SUMMERELL

Laura Harrell Summerell, 58, died Friday evening at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Summerell was born on to the late Aaron Harrell and Grace Tart Harrell. She had a great love for animals and worked as a veterinarian assistant for Dr. Byron H. Brow Jr. in Goldsboro. She had also worked as a dialysis technician with Gambro Health Care. She was a member of the Catholic Faith and was loved by many.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. officiating.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Lee Summerell, of Greenville; her sisters, Mary Harrell Mozingo, of Goldsboro and Shelby Harrell Small, of Goldsboro; a special sister-in-law, Betsy Clark, of Goldsboro; nieces and nephews, Scott Mozingo, Cheryl Mozingo Dexter, Eugene Pierson, Mary Ann Pierson, Michael Pierson, Teresa Daye, and Diane Matthews.; and a special nephew, Al Harrell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Harrell Pierson and her brother, Dean Harrell.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Humane Society, 63 Inverness Drive East, Englewood, Colo. 80112 or charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the graveside and other times at 102 Amblewood Lane, Goldsboro.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
