Mittie Coley Darden, 85, 119 W. Hooks River Road, died Tuesday at her residence.
Funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Goldsboro Disciples Institute with Elder Carlton Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born to the late Mr. Granger (Pos) and Hattie Sherard Coley. Mrs. Darden was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Darden; four daughters, Hattie Williams, Annie M. Bryant, Louise Darden and Bertha Bennett; two sons, Willie Roy and Clarence Darden.
She is survived by five daughters; Alean Applewhite, Vivian and Gertie May Coley, Brenda Daniels, and Carolyn Hill; five sons, Emmett Coley, James Luther, Alton, Kenneth and Derrick Darden; one sister, Margaret C. Wilson.
Viewing will be Saturday, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel. Wake will be Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Darden Chapel Church, Goldsboro.
