JIMMY W. CARTER

Died Nov. 12, 2006

KINSTON - Jimmy West Carter, Sr., 62, 1719 Airy Grove Church Road, died Sunday. He was born in Lenoir County to the late Ransome and Canary Morgan Carter. Mr. Carter worked the past 30 years with Eastern Omni Construction in Greenville.

Memorial service will be tonight at 7 from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Ball officiating.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan Street Carter; two sons, Jimmy West Carter, Jr. and Christopher De'John Carter, both of Kinston; two grandchildren, Matthew and Casey Carter; three brothers, Bobby Carter and wife, Bennie, Ransome Carter, Jr. and wife, Ruthie, John Carter and wife, Linda, all of LaGrange; sister, Dora Barfield and husband, John D., of La Grange; mother-in-law, Virginia Moody, of Kinston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Stanley and husband, Ronnie, of Kinston, Betty Head and husband, Buddy, of Snow Hill, and Gary Street of Kinston.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by two brothers; Nelson and George Carter; two sisters, Louise Carter Sumrell and Pattie Carter Barfield; and a special nephew, Doug Carter.

The family will receive friends today following the service and at other times at the home of Virginia Moody, 502 Rhem Street.
