GLENORE P. WATERS

Died Nov. 7, 2006

Glenore "Polk" Waters, 88, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was a life long resident of Wayne County and served in the U.S. Army. Polk was employed at S. F. Ware-house until it closed, later retiring from Kemp Furniture Company.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Jean; his parents, Ed and Alice Whitfield Waters; his brothers, Rudolph, George and Robert; his sisters, Geneva, Anna, Lillie and Adell.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with pastor Ricky L. Dawson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Highway 70 West.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Waters; two sons, Alexander Waters and wife, Mary, of Orlando, Fla., and Glen Waters of the home; six daughters, Adell Britto and husband, William, Alice Buckram and husband, Darren, Rochelle Smith and husband, Thomas, and Shiryl Bell all of Goldsboro, Diane Reid and husband, Charles, of Walstonburg, Avon Waters of Wilkesboro; special son-in-law, Larry Bell, of Goldsboro; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be at Lightner Funeral Chapel on Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at 3404 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro.
