RUBY L. HOLLAND

PIKEVILLE - Ruby Lee Ferrell Holland, 84, 616 Bertie Pierce Road, died Sunday afternoon at her home.

Mrs. Holland was born in Wilson County on Mar. 7, 1922 to the late William Anderson Ferrell and Lela Capps Ferrell. She was an active member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary and taught Sunday School. Mrs. Holland was also a member of the Nahunta Home Extension Club.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Glosson and the Rev. Gene Outland officiating. Burial will be in the Holland Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Holland is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cecil W. Holland; sons, Henry Holland and wife, Gail, of Lenoir and John Holland and wife, Ranie, of Nahunta; brothers, Anderson Ferrell, Jr. and wife, Emily, of Wilson, Clifton Ferrell and wife, Sarah, of Black Creek; sisters, Gerthia Ferrell McDonald of Princeton, Peggy Ferrell Outland and husband, the Rev. Gene Outland, of Sesser, Ill.; sister-in-law, Barbara McDonald Ferrell of Fremont; grandchildren, Adam Holland and wife, Janet, of Granite Falls, Lori Holland Gibson of Pikeville, Jonathan Holland and wife, Melissa , of Pinkney; and four great-grandchildren, John Austin and Lorissa Bailey Gibson, Caitlin Jade and Alana Grace Holland.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George W. "Snoodles" Ferrell; her sisters, Darlene Ferrell and Ethel Flowers; her brother-in-laws, Jack Flowers and Clifton (Bud) McDonald; and her grandson, Hank Holland.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Community Hospice and Home Care and the Christian Caregivers Service.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service in the fellowship hall and other times at her home.

Memorials may be made to Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1283 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont 27830.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Goldsboro.
