GARLAND HOWELL

PRINCETON - Garland Howell, 65, died Sunday at his home on Hickory Crossroads Road. Born January 30, 1941 in Wayne County, he was the son of DeWitt Howell of Pikeville and the late Thelma Horne Howell. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Shorty and Gene Howell; and two sisters, Claudette Hodge and Peggy Howell. Mr. Howell was a driver for Kenan Transport and attended the Rosewood Church of God.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Tommy McLendon and the Rev. Michael Morley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his father is his wife, Fannie Overman Howell; son, the Rev. Michael Gerald Morley and wife, Alexa, of Wilmington; daughter, Reneé Morley Ormond and husband, Robert, of Princeton; brothers, Kenneth and Billy Howell, of Patetown; sisters, Faye Person and Evelyn Thompson of Patetown and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
