MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for Vancie Ward, 83 843 Emmett Jackson Road, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Luke Disciple Church of Christ with the Rev. Donald Graham officiating. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery.
Mr. Ward died Thursday at SunBridge Nursing Center.
He was born in Wayne County to the late Ezekiel and Annie Kornegay Ward.
He is survived by one daughter, Glenda Ward of Mount Olive; two sons, Dennis Ward and Ronald Ward of Mount Olive; two brothers, Fletcher Ward of Dudley and Ezekiel Ward of Mount Olive; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The viewing will be held today from 3 to 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home chapel. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. to receive friends.
