Sarah E. Sears, 98, 104 S. Alabama Ave., died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Antonia Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born to the late James and Cora Hazzell Hatcher.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Edward Sears.
Mrs. Sears leaves to mourn her a sister, Mary Hazel Bolden of Plymouth; a nephew and niece Fred and Edna Hatcher Hines of Raleigh and Mattie Hatcher Long of New Haven, Conn.; special great-nieces, Carolyn Pittman of Goldsboro and Essie Sears Coley; very special nephew and niece, Robert and Elizabeth Evans; a host of great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Julia Washington and Marvin and Mildred Artis.
A viewing will be held today from 3 to 8 p.m. with a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
