FAYE H. BAKER

Sonia Faye Baker, 66, died Monday at her home in the Commons.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Gene Carpenter presiding.

Mrs. Baker was born in Cookville, Tenn., Oct. 25, 1939, to the late James L. Henry and Louise Grimsley Henry. She was a retired paralegal having worked with Farmworkers Legal Service. Mrs. Baker attended Tennessee Tech and the University of Tennessee. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband, Julian C. "Buzz" Baker; daughters, Catherine Tharin and husband, Louis, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Laura Lovejoy and husband, Giles, of Evansville, Ind.; stepsons, Martin Roy "Marty" Baker of Chesterfield, Va., and Michael J. Baker of Pine Mountain, Ga.; a brother, James Henry of Homewood, Ala.; grandchildren, Chesley Lovejoy, Ian Lovejoy, Jake Lovejoy, Lydia Tharin, Irina Tharin, Marina Tharin, Jay Malone and Seth Tharin; and great-grandsons, David Malone, Preston Malone, Seth Tharin Jr., Amber Tharin, Charlie Baker and Max Baker.

She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Bowling.

Memorials may be made to the Community Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 1064 Goldsboro, 27533, or to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 200 N. James St., Goldsboro, 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service in the parish hall at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
