NEW BERN -- Billie Foss Eason, 75, 11 Pier Pointe, formerly of Goldsboro, died at Craven Regional Medical Center Tuesday.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Emerald Isle Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Braswell officiating and Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro with the Rev. John Pascal and the Rev. Thurman Horney officiating.

"Bittie" was born March 21, 1931, grew up in LaGrange and spent most of her life in Goldsboro. She was a wife, mother and homemaker who made herself into a successful businesswoman, making fashion accessories for women.

She was an avid duplicate bridge player and became life master. Emerald Isle was a favorite place and she spent many hours enjoying her view of Bogue Sound.

Billie is survived by her husband, James Alton Eason; son James Alton Eason Jr. and wife, Aissa, of Bentonville, Ark.; daughter Dru Eason Wilkins and husband, Ken, of New Bern; brothers Jimmie Carr Foss and wife, Linda, and Creig Foss and wife, Debbie, of LaGrange; and grandchildren, Jonathan Eason Wilkins and wife, Laura, of New Bern, Graham Worth Wilkins of Znamenka IIUkraine, Eleanor Jurney Wilkins of New Bern and James Alton Eason III, Miles Cameron Eason and Jennifer Hirst Eason of Bentonville.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service.
