Ernie "Al" Simmons, 82, 400 E. 2nd St., died Wednesday at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service was held today at 11 a.m. at Kenly Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating.
Survivors include aunts, cousins, nieces and friend and caregiver Steve Stancil.
The family received friends Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Coley Funeral Home.
