PEGGY H. LOVELACE

Feb. 23, 1929-Sept. 15, 2006

Peggy Hurley Lovelace, 77, of 1606 Evergreen Ave., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Peggy was born in Troy, N.C., to the late John and Bertha Freeman Hurley. She graduated from Troy High School in 1946 as valedictorian and Greensboro College in 1950, with a degree in English. She taught for several years and later became a devoted homemaker.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Willow Dale Cemetery, with Dr. Homer Morris and the Rev. Thurman Horney officiating.

Mrs. Lovelace is survived by her husband of 54 years, Oscar N. Lovelace Jr.; son, Tim Lovelace of Goldsboro; and sister-in-law, Lee Warren of Goldsboro. Mrs. Lovelace was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Hurley King, and her husband, John C. King.

Friends will be received at the home and following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
