VERONA MASSEY

WASHINGTON -- Verona Leigh Massey, 95, a resident of Britthaven Rest Home of Washington, formerly of Goldsboro, died Friday.

A graveside memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Willow Dale Cemetery.

She was born in Advance on Oct. 18, 1910. She was the daughter of the late Charles Robert Massey and Ida Agnes Wiggins Massey.

Miss Massey was a retired line typist operator for newspapers in North Carolina and Virginia.

She was active in the Lutheran Church of Goldsboro, was involved with the Girl Scouts and supported the American Cancer Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Robert Massey Jr., Kermit N. Massey, Hoyle Clinton Massey and William D. Massey.

She is survived by a sister, Frances Massey Hine of Washington; a sister-in-law, Nancy Willis Massey of Gastonia; and eight nieces and nephews.

Paul Funeral Home of Washington is serving the family.
