RICHARD DUNMIRE

August 6, 1923 - Sept. 6, 2006

Mr. Richard DeWayne Dunmire, 83, of 102 Stone Gate Court, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Mr. Dunmire was born in Vandergriff, Pennsylvania to the late Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Dunmire. He was a retired principal and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Vandergriff, Pennsylvania. Mr. Dunmire served his country in the United States Marines during World War II. He had been a former resident of New Bern and a member of the New Bern Golf Club.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Ordelt officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Mr. Dunmire is survived by his wife, Louise Taylor Dunmire; his sister, Norma Thomas of Illinois; his nieces, Mary Jane Hardebeck of Seven Springs and Susan Baker of Farmville; his great-nieces, Mary Toler of Raleigh and Shirley Worrell of Seven Springs; and his great-great-niece, Lauren Toler of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
