Norman Whitmore Smith, 90, of Albertson died Sunday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be today at 7 p.m. at the Pink Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Brown and Rev. Lynwood Boyette officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth A. Smith, and is survived by his wife, Irene O. Smith; daughter, Anne Lane, of LaGrange; sons, Braxton Smith of Pink Hill, Boyce Smith of Kinston and Steve Smith of Albertson; grandchildren, Marty Smith, J.T. Smith, Lisa Merritt, Mary Smith, Luke Smith, Jeb Smith, Jeremy Smith, Wendy Lane and Karen Lane, as well as four great grandchildren.
