SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Lucille House Franco, 64, of 1898 Andrea Place, died Saturday at Valley Medical Hospital in San Jose, Calif.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Horace Modlin officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Julius House Sr. of Charlotte and the late Ethel Newsome Weatherford.

A retired customer service representative with Summit Uniforms, she was a volunteer for numerous veteran organizations and the Bread Mission at her church.

In addition to her father, she is also survived by her husband, Roy Franco; a son, Merle Gene Isom Jr. of Montrose, Colo., her stepfather, S.R. Weatherford of Wartburg, Tenn.; a brother, Albert House of Moncure; two sisters, Lois Mehus of Fayetteville and Frances Sanderford of Moncure; and one grandchild.

The family is being served by Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory.
