PIKEVILLE-- Majorie Carlyle Grice, 86, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Whitley Church with the Rev. Ferrell Hardison, the Rev. Andy Stovall and the Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Born Nov. 3, 1920, in Lenoir County to the late Kirby C. Carlyle and Effie Skinner Carlyle, Mrs. Grice was married to the late Walter C. Grice Sr.

She was retired from the Goldsboro Water Department and was a member of Whitley Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mrs. Grice is survived by a daughter, Pattie Rhodes, and husband, Dusty, of Pikeville; sons, Walter C. Grice Jr., and wife Priscilla, of Princeton and Kirby Michael Grice, and wife, Louise, of Goldsboro; sisters, Agnes Shepard and Ruth Brown of Kinston and Jean Kelly of Kelly; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Whitley Church building fund.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home of Dusty and Pattie Rhodes, 401 Carla Ann Dr., Pikeville.
