Bettie Bunn Talton Lynch, 72, went to be with her Lord Saturday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Owens and the Rev. David Thick officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the church cemetery.

She was born in Wayne County June 27, 1934, to the late Clarence Bunn and Zora Woodall Bunn. Mrs. Lynch was a retired middle school teacher with Wayne County Schools, having taught at Pikeville Elementary School and retiring from Norwayne Middle School with 37 years of service.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer and as a choir member. Mrs. Lynch was a member of Fremont Rotary Club where she had served as president. She was also a member of the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary and the Nahunta Extension and Community Club. For many years, she had chaired the senior group for the Nahunta Community Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Lynch; a daughter, Karen Adler, and husband, Craig, of Littleton, Colo.; a son, Stan Talton, and wife, Deanna, of Wilson; two stepsons, Mike Lynch, and wife, Debbie, of Tampa, Fla., and Keith Lynch, and wife, Vicki, of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Shelba Buchanan of Pikeville; and three brothers, Donald Bunn of Whitter, Joe Bunn of Anderson, S.C., and David B. "Buster" Bunn of Pikeville.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Gideons International, Goldsboro North Camp, P.O. Box 10093, Goldsboro, 27532, or Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church building fund, 1080 Gurley Dairy Road, Pikeville, 27863.

Gideons and the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. At other times, they will be at the residence.

Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
