HENRY P. LEROY

On August 14, 2006, Retired United States Air Force MSgt. Henry P. LeRoy departed his earthly home to journey to his Heavenly home.
He was born January 18, 1927 in East St. Louis, Illinois, to the late Henry M. LeRoy and Fannie Cash LeRoy. When Mr. LeRoy was 17, he joined the Navy Sea Bees and after his first hitch he did not re-up. He then went to work for the Alton Southern Railroad in East St. Louis, where his father was an engineer and all the LeRoy brothers worked.
Mr. LeRoy then joined the Air Force where he served for 26 1/2 years defending his country. His military career included a tour in North Africa, England, Thailand, and 2 tours to Okinawa. While serving his country, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster), the "Gold Star" Award, and a Certificate of Training for Weapons Maintenance Supervision, as well as many other awards.
After retirement from the Air Force, he worked as maintenance supervisor for Faith Free Will Baptist Church for 15 years, where he again retired.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.
Those left to mourn his loss are his wife, Patricia LeRoy; son, Daniel LeRoy; son, Philip Kevin LeRoy and wife, Isabel; son, James Philip LeRoy and his daughter, Carina Elizabeth; son, Patrick Shannon LeRoy and his daughters, Shannon Nicole "Nikki" and Lucinda Shawnne "Cindi"; son, Carl Patrick Henry LeRoy; daughter, Lucinda LeRoy Glaug and husband, Larry, and their son, Ranson Norris; daughter, Doricia LeRoy Benton and husband, Binford Edgar Jr., and their sons, Binford Edgar III and Philip-Patrick Cash, and daughter, Victoria Jouette'; son, Mickie Goss and wife, Lynne, and their daughter, BeBe Goss Robb and husband, Scott; and daughter, Tiffany Holland and husband, Victor; son, Joey Goss and sons, Aaron, Joe Goss Jr., Christopher and daughters, Heidi, Jennifer and Patty. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lula Mae Surrett and Dorothy Lucille Roberts and husband, Woody.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary LeRoy, Vance LeRoy and William LeRoy; and his sister, Edith Bovinette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Soup Kitchen of Goldsboro, P.O. Box 1064, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church and other times at his home, 102 Quail Drive, Goldsboro.
