Willie Ed Edmundson, 84, of 906 Goldsboro St., Fremont, died Wednesday in Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Greater Morning Star Holiness Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Helen Reid officiating. Burial will be in Turner Swamp Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

A Fremont native, he attended Fremont Public Schools and was employed as a brick mason.

The widower of the late Helen Armstrong Edmundson, he was the son of the late Albert and Eva Edmundson.

He was preceded in death by four of his children, Willie Edmundson Jr., Jimmy Edmundson, Billy Ray Edmundson and Mae Hazel Franklin.

Survivors include two daughters, Annie Delores Cox of Fremont and Carolyn Ingram of Pikeville; five sons, Haywood Edmundson and Ronnie Edmundson, both of Fremont,, Larry Edmundson and Bobby Edmundson, both of New Jersey, and McArthur Edmundson of Fayetteville; seven sisters, Corine Braswell and Arletha Hooks, both of Wilson, Clementine Parker, Doris Lewis, and Doretha Brown, all of Goldsboro, Vivian Coley of Fremont and Betty Barnes of Dudley; a brother, Ivy Edmundson of Durham; 34 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing hours will be today from 2 to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries.
