MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for Deacon Edward Usher, 83, of 142 County Road, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Preston Grimes officiating. Burial
will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Usher died Monday at SunBridge Nursing Center.
He was the son of the late Henry and Anna Williams Usher.
Survivors include five daughters, Vonda McClain, Helen Stevens, Brenda West and Sylvia Leonard of Mount Olive and Sandra Tanner of Seven Springs; three sons, Gilbert Usher of Raleigh and Jerry Usher and Bobby Usher of Houston, Texas; one brother, Roosevelt Usher of Mount Olive; three sisters, Mildred Wright of Warsaw, Olivia Truzy of Dudley and Gloria Dyson of Calypso; and 29 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 6 p.m. on Friday at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
