WARSAW -- Rose Hodges, 73, of 714 E. Hill St., died Friday at Glen Care of Warsaw.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Franklin will officiate. Interment will be in Middleton Cemetery.

Ms. Hodges was the former owner of Hodges Grocery of Warsaw and was a retired teacher. She was born in Duplin County to the late Thomas Henry and Hopie Smith Hodges and was a graduate of Fayetteville State University. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star Golden Jewel #71, the Retired Teachers Association, Douglas High School Alumni Association, the NAACP, and the First Baptist Church of Warsaw.

She is survived by one brother, Herbert Hodges of the home.

The viewing will be from 4 until 8 today at Rhodes Funeral Home in Warsaw and the family will be present from 7 until 8 this evening.

The funeral procession will line up at the residence beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
