Lubie Edward Fryar, 68, of 160 Blanchard Road, Turkey, died Saturday at his residence
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Warsaw, where he was a member. The Rev. David Franklin will officiate. Interment will be in Wilson Chapel Church Cemetery in Turkey.
Mr. Fryar was a Sampson County Native and was a 1957 graduate of Douglass High School. He served in the United States Army and retired from the New York Transit Authority. He was preceded in death by his father, David Fryar, and is survived by his mother, Madgie Holmes Fryar.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Gerlonia Deans Fryar; one son, Lubie E. Fryar Jr. of Carona, N.Y.; one daughter, Kerri Fryar Jordon of High Point; four brothers, Ronnie Blue, Donnie Blue and David Fryar of Clinton and Horace Blue of Clayton; five sisters, Rachel Tillman of Bayside, N.Y., Jannie Robinson of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and Connie Murphy, Ruby Fryar and Addie Conley of Clinton; and six grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Rhodes Funeral Home in Warsaw, and the family will be present from 6 until 8 to greet friends.
The funeral processional will line up at the residence at 1:15 on Thursday afternoon.
