BEULAH POPE

WASHINGTON -- Beulah Allen Pope, 97, sister of Bonnie A. Sears of Goldsboro, died Monday at Britthaven of Washington.

The funeral was held today at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Smithton with Dr. Burke Holland officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary.

Mrs. Pope was a Wake County native and was the widow of John Pope. She received a bachelor's degree from Meredith College, was a teacher and homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithton.

In addition to her sister, Mrs. Pope is survived by one son, Thomas A. Pope of Belhaven; and six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Hillside Funeral Service of Washington is serving the family.
