MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral service for Henry Byrd, 87, of 405 E. Kornegay St., will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the NorthEast FWB Church. with Pastor Jesse Warren III officiating.. Burial will follow in the Carver Cemetery.
Mr. Byrd died last Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Matt and Lucy Byrd and was a retired employee with the Town of Mount Olive.
He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Horton of Calypso; one stepson, Charles Byrd of Elm City; one stepdaughter Joyce Myers of Groton, Conn., and six grandchildren.
The viewing will be held Saturday from 3 until 6 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
