Susan Meredith Davis, 35, and her 2-year-old son, Boone Patrick Davis, of 1720 Ashley Downs, Apex, were tragically killed in an auto accident in York, Alabama, on Sunday June 25th, while returning home from a family reunion in Mississippi.
Meredith was a loving wife and a devoted mother whose whole life was centered around her husband, her son, and her family. Little Boone was a bright, happy and vibrant boy who loved swimming, playing and learning. Their lives touched many people and they will be truly missed.
A service celebrating their lives will be held today at 3 p.m. at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St. (Hwy 55) in Apex. The Rev. Jerry Wilkes will officiate. Burial will be in the Apex Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3, preceding the service this afternoon.
They were preceded in death by a son (and brother) Zachary Davis, and by a father (and grandfather) Howard "Mickey" Carroll.
Surviving are their husband (and father), Josh Davis of the home; parents (and grandparents), Sue and Gerry Booker of Goldsboro, Joan Palmer of Salisbury, Ben and Susan Davis of Gold Hill, N.C.; grandparents (and great-grandparents), Madelyn Fox of Goldsboro and Hank and Luise Palmer of Salisbury. Also surviving are sisters (and aunts) Elizabeth Williams and husband Danny, Catherine Mooring and husband Ricky, Ashley Maddox and husband Chris, Lindsay Oehmen and husband Jeff, Jill Chambers and Janice Chambers; and nephew, nieces (and cousins) Alston, Grace and Isabella.
Memorials may be made in their honor to your local March of Dimes chapter.
