HOWARD D. DRAPER

MOUNT OLIVE -- Howard Dennis Draper Sr., 88, died Saturday at SunBridge Care Center.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive. Dr. Bruce D. Taylor of Raleigh will officiate. Committal and interment will be at 4 p.m. at Cedar Wood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with the Rev. David Hadley of Littleton officiating.

A native of Northhampton County, Mr. Draper had lived in Fayetteville, Littleton, and more recently, Tarboro.

He was a retired educator and school principal and was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Trew Draper; son, Dr. H. Dennis Draper Jr., Methodist minister of Mount Olive' grandsons, Howard Lee Draper of Elizabeth City, and Robert Lee Draper and wife, Tracey of Melbourne, Fla.; great-grandchild, Riley McKenzie Draper of Melbourne; two sisters, Dorothy D. White of Margaretsville, N.C., and Faye D. Drake of Conway, N.C.

A daughter-in-law, Catherine P. "Cathy" Draper, preceded him in death.

The family will be at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive tonight from 7 until 8:30, and at other times at Dr. Draper's residence, 108 Ramblewood Drive, Mount Olive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Littleton United Methodist Church, Littleton, N.C., 27850.
