FRANK KOONCE FRANK KOONCE

Frankie Gene "Frank" Koonce, 68, of 5196 Hwy. 70 West, died Saturday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held today at 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Gillette officiating. Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Koonce was born in Pitt County to the late Elijah B. Koonce and Ethel L. Koonce. He was raised in Kinston and, after graduating from high school in Lenoir County, he went to electronics school in Chicago and joined the United States Air Force. Mr. Koonce had worked as a supervisor of maintenance for properties in Florida, New Hampshire and Greenville, N.C., and had also worked in construction. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his brother, William B. "Bill" Koonce, of Grifton; his special cousin, Peggy Owens, of Kinston; and his caregiver and very close friend, Carolyn Parker of Goldsboro.

Another brother, Carlton L. "Red" Koonce, preceded him in death.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends this afternoon from 4 until 5 at Seymour Funeral Home.
