JANET EVERITT BOYETTE-DENNING

April 17, 1930-June 21, 2006

PRINCETON -- Janet Everitt Boyette-Denning, 76, died Wednesday afternoon at WakeMed in Raleigh.

Born April 17, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Harry Willis and Caroline Fitzgerald Everitt she was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Gray Boyette. She was a graduate of Selma High School and Woman's College of the University of North Carolina.

She was a long-time member of the Princeton United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, member of the Official Board, as secretary for more than 30 years, organizer and leader of the Betsy Sugg Circle for many years, and a member of the church choir. She taught at the public high schools in Micro and Princeton and at Johnston Community College for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Johnston County Community Foundation Board and the Johnston County Arts Council, where she served as secretary. She was also a member of the Selma Book Club.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Denning; sons, Gray Boyette of Kenly, Scott Boyette and wife Kathy, and Kevin Boyette and wife Angie, all of Princeton; 10 grandchildren, Ben Boyette, Riley Boyette, Paige Boyette, Scotty Boyette, Len Boyette, Kent Boyette and Taylor Boyette, Brittany Peedin, Kristina Peedin and Cody Price; and one great-granddaughter, Kylie Grace Boyette.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Bobby Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends today 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
