SNOW HILL -- Florence Carraway Carlyle, 76, died at her home on Wednesday.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with the Rev. Alvin Keener and the Rev. Chuck Owens officiating. Burial will be in Snow Hill Cemetery.

A Greene County native, Mrs. Carlyle was the daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Ham Carraway. She framed with her late husband, Albert Carlyle, and also worked for Greene County Schools. She was a member of Harrell's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, James Albert Carlyle of Snow Hill; one daughter, Kim Carlyle Cherry of Snow Hill; sisters, Virginia Morgan of Fountain, Grace Tyndall of LaGrange and Sudie Radford and Katie Radford of Snow Hill; a brother, Ernest Carraway of Grifton; and three grandchildren.

Two other sons, Alton Ray Carlyle and David Allen Carlyle, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends today from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the residence at 1855 Corbett Town Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Harrell's Chapel F.W.B. Church, c/o Lin Radford, 210 Lakeside Drive, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580.
