MICHAEL D. MARTIN

Michael Dale "Mike" Martin, 44, of 303 Vinwood Avenue, died Tuesday.
Born in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Dale L. and Charlotte C. Martin of Pikeville. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was self-employed in the construction business.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Gwen Vaughn Martin; a stepdaughter, Denise Adkins, and her husband, James, of Goldsboro; two brothers, Gary Martin of Riverside, Calif., and David Martin of Henderson; one sister, Debra Martin of Rosewood; two nephews, Timothy Martin and John Martin; and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Martin; a sister, Denise Martin; and a stepson, Donald Vaughn.
The family will receive friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m., and other times at the residence.
