Lopose "Posey" Snipes, age 89, 106 Moore Allen Street, Dudley, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Canary Heath Goff. A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of the late Roy Snipes for 64 years.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Rouse officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Paul Eskew Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Helen Snipes of Dudley and Marilyn and Frank Bostic of Kinston; one grandson, Alvin Crosby Grant of Goldsboro; two sisters, Kathleen Hinson of Fremont and Nell Holliday of Goldsboro; a sister-in-law, Norma Snipes of Wilson; a special friend, James "Jim" Cavosie of Goldsboro; and her companion, Teenie Snipes of the home; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Crosby Snipes; her brother, Walter Goff Jr.; and two sisters, Polly House and Sudie Goff.

The family will receive friends Tuesday (tonight) from 7 to 8 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.

While flowers are welcome, donations may also be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Ct., Goldsboro, 27534.

The family would like to thank the office of Dr. Carl Haynes & his staff at LaGrange Medical and more recently the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their many acts of kindness and excellent care.
