SELMA -- The funeral for Herbert Odell Pittman, 85, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The Rev. Jasper Renfrow and Elder Harold Pittman will officiate. Burial will be in the Creech family cemetery.
Mr. Pittman was a native of Johnston County and was the son of the late Julius P. and Minnie Crumpler Pittman.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Creech Pittman; one son, Thelbert Larry Pittman of Selma; two daughters, Deanna Grice of Selma and Connie Pittman Hallman of Knightdale; three brothers, Ralph Pittman of Smithfield and Harold Pittman and Donald Pittman of Selma; one sister, Joyce Lamm of Angier; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at at the funeral home.
