Ruth Raynor Helms, 93, mother of R. Glenn Helms of Goldsboro, died Saturday at her home at 508 David Street in Elizabethtown.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown. The Rev. Donald Warren will officiate. A private family graveside service will be held at Bladen Memorial Gardens.

A native of Bladen County, Mrs. Helms was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Suzannah Z. Raynor and the widow of Roy Helms. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and faithfully attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown

In addition to Glenn, and his wife, Eloise, she is survived by another son, Gene E. Helms of Greensboro; a daughter, Linda H. Millar and husband, George, of Rocky Mount; and daughter-in-law, Melva Helms of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Michael G. Helms and wife, Crystie, of Surfside Beach, S.C., Bradley H. Helms of Goldsboro, Scott Helms and wife, Donna, of Middletown, Ohio, Jason K. Helms of Eden, W. Chris Helms and wife, Valerie, of Wilmington; Ashley M. Lamm and fiancé, Bruce Berry, of Rocky Mount and G. Peyton Millar and wife, Laurie, of Rocky Mount; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Helms of Wilmington and Chandler Lamm of Rocky Mount; and good friends and caregivers, Mary Robinson and Ellen Lewis of Elizabethtown.

She was preceded in death by another son, William Joseph Helms; a grandson, Sean Helms; two brothers, Floyd and Ivey Raynor; and two sisters, Lelia Dunn and Mary Williams.
