LULA MASSENGILL

SMITHFIELD -- Lula Mae Massengill, 80, formerly of Brogden and Johnston County, died in Smithfield Manor Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Robin and Bertha Allen Massengill. She was the widow of Talmadge Isaih Massengill, who died in July 1977.

The funeral was held at her church, Sardis Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Nowell and the the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by a son, Charles Edward Massengill of Pikeville; daughters, Jackie M. Daughtry and Janie M. Best, both of Smithfield; sisters, Hester Lawhorn of Princeton, Bessie Johnson of Fayetteville, Katie Mitchell of Goldsboro and Louettie Bonner of Benson; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family received friends Saturday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, and at other times at the home of Jackie M. Daughtry, 333 Grabtown Road, Smithfield.
