Vivian Curtis Yarbrough, 91, of Cary, passed away at Western Wake Hospital in Cary, N.C., on Saturday, May 6, 2006, and went to be with her Lord.

She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC.

Born in Paw Creek in Mecklenburg County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Mary Campbell Curtis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Yarbrough of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Paula Curtis Hipp of Charlotte, N.C.; and brother, Bain L. Curtis of Tarboro, N.C.

She is survived by a sister, Madge Curtis Eubanks of Marshville, N.C.; daughter, Anne Yarbrough Poole and husband, Reggie Poole, of Cary, N.C.; sons, Richard Carlton Yarbrough, and wife, Karen Walker Yarbrough, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Philip Larry Yarbrough and wife, Angela Griffith Yarbrough, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She worked in the Records Section of the Paroles Division of the NC Department of Corrections for over 40 years. She was a loving and devoted mother and was loved dearly by her children and will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and devotion the staff at Woodland Terrace in Cary has provided over the past four years.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn West Cemetery on Freedom Drive in Charlotte, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 714 E. Whitaker Mill Road, Raleigh, N.C., 27608; or to the Goldsboro Pack 9 Cub Scouts, 116 Deerborn Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
