Ethel Louise Denning Colwell, 91, of 510 Colwell Lane, Turkey, died Friday at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
Mrs. Colwell was the widow of Daniel Colwell and the daughter of the late John and Eula Denning. She taught school for 36 years in Turkey and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, John Ed Colwell of Turkey, and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with the Reverends Ray Smith and Danny Johnson officiating. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday night.
Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church.
