DALE WILSON WILLIAMS

Dale Wilson Williams, 63, of 202 Walnut Creek Dr., went to be with the Lord on Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Dale was born in Benton, Tenn. and was raised in Gainesboro, Tenn. by his parents H.L. (Dick) Williams and Mary Isom Williams of Athens, Tenn.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired from the North Carolina National Guard with the rank of Captain.
Dale was an Industrial Technology graduate of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn. and earned his Master's Degree from Pepperdine University in Pepperdine, Calif.
After serving his country, he began working with Blue Bell Industries and later worked with Hampton Industries and ExCel Linde. Most recently, Dale had worked as an engineer with Cooper Crouse-Hines in LaGrange.
For those who knew him, Dale will be remembered by his selfless ways, his smile, and his quick wit. Even during his illness he never gave up or let go of his firm belief in the power of prayer. Dale's determination to let it be God's will was an inspiration to all who knew him.
He was an active member of Oak Forest Road Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and Bible Class teacher. Dale believed in supporting his community through civic organizations and was a member of the LaGrange Rotary Club. He was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. Dale was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars.
Dale's passion was golf and he was a member of Walnut Creek Country Club. If it was a beautiful day, he enjoyed being on the golf course with his friends. Dale also took great pride in wearing his orange shirts for he had a great love for the University of Tennessee Volunteers.
A service to celebrate Dale's life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Oak Forest Road Church of Christ with Robert Goff presiding. Interment will be July 6 at 3 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Shirley McCullen Williams; his children, Christy Williams Morton and husband John of Fayetteville; Bradley Dale Williams and wife Vanessa of Holly Springs; Holly Williams Rucker and husband Greg of Cary; his grandchildren Hunter Morton, Cody Morton, Caitlyn Morton and William Rucker; his sister Alice Marr Temples and husband Joe of Cookeville, Tenn.; his nephews Joe Temples and wife, Angie of Knoxville, Tenn.; Travis Temples of Nashville, Tenn.; and Scott Temples of Cookeville, Tenn.; his aunt Addie Marr Glenn of Nashville, Tenn.; his mother-in-law Lucille McCullen of Clinton; and his brother-in-law George Wesley McCullen of Raleigh.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4- 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
