Jesse Earl Barfield, 57, of 305 W. Hooks River Road, formerly of Smithfield, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Peters Disciple Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Wilsons Mills.
Mr. Barfield was a native of Johnston County and was the son of the late James and Matilda Barfield.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Barfield of Smithfield; three children, Keywon Strickland of Raleigh, E´Sha Barfield of Smithfield and Carlos Dublin of Virginia; three sisters, Hazel Barfield and Mittie Guillaume of Smithfield and Virginia Wadford of Goldsboro; and two brothers, Mitch Barfield of Smithfield and Edward Barfield of Kinston.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 6 p.m. on Tuesday at R.L. Sanders Funeral Home in Smithfield.
