PERRY E. MOYE
Aug. 31, 1931-April 24, 2006
Perry Edwin Moye, father of Douglas McDowell and brother of Mildred Rasberry and Inez Moye, all of LaGrange, died Monday.
The funeral will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at St. Matthews United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mr. Moye was a native of Lenoir County, was the son of the late Patrick and Madie Best Moye and was the widower of Irene Purvis Moye. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and owned and operated Moye's Barber Shop.
In addition to his son and sisters, he is survived by three other sons, Anthony A. Purvis, Edwin E. Moye and Michael Williams of Greensboro; daughters, Pamela S. Moye and Goioa M. Garrett of Greensboro and Carol M. Clark of Whitsett; two brothers, Herman Moye of Phafftown and Winfred Moye of East Orange, N.J.; and 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the church at 2:30 on Friday afternoon.
