HUGH G. DAVIS

FREMONT -- Hugh G. Davis, 78, of Old Black Creek Road, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. Pastor Powell H. De, Jr. will officiate.

A Wayne County native and a farmer, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Richard Edward Davis and Annie West Davis.

He is survived by one son, Kim Davis and his wife, Freda, of Fremont; three daughters, Sue Davis Brann of Wilson, Diane Davis Thompson and her husband, Dickie, of Garner and Lucinda Davis Eastwood and her husband, David, of Fuquay-Varina; one brother, Delton Davis of Fremont; a half brother; two half sisters; five grandchildren, Jennie Lynn Holland, William Edward Brown, Chris Thompson, Farah Davis and Abbie Davis; one great-granddaughter, Jeallen Holland; a special care-giver, Iris Evans; and a special pet, Buddi.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Vee Davis.

The family will receive friends at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont following the graveside service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
