ROY L. COLVIN

Died April 17, 2006

Roy L. Colvin, 59, of 213 Gray Ave. died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Wayne Country, he was the son of the late Roger Cleveland and Ola Mae Parrish Colvin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Luvina Colvin. He was a member of the former Harvest Temple Church and attended Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse (Jay) Weaver of Lumberton officiating. Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Colvin is survived by his wife, Peggy Smith Colvin; daughter Shirley and husband Steve Johnson of Dudley; son Roger and wife Kim Colvin of Dudley; brothers James (Jimmy) Colvin of Florence, S.C. and Clyde Colvin of Goldsboro; sisters Shirley Smith of Leland and Mary Alice Spence of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, T.J. Johnson, Michael Johnson, Scott Colvin, Joseph Johnson and Amanda Colvin; a great grandson, Noah Adam Johnson.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday evening at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Steve and Shirley Johnson, 1908 Old Mount Olive Highway in Dudley.

Flowers are welcome and memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
