The funeral for Dorothy B. Newsome will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ. Bishop Alton Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Newsome died Friday at Duke Medical Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Rowland Bell of Philadelphia; a son, Ricardo L. Rowland of Durham; one sister, Renetta Carlton of Raleigh; and a brother, Michael Smith of Goldsboro.
The viewing hours will be from 2 until 7 p.m. today at Lightner Memorial Funeral Home, and the family will be present from 6 until 7 to receive friends. At other times friends and relatives may call at the home of Marion and Martha Smith, 3607 Central Heights Road, and the funeral procession will line up there at 10:15 on Saturday morning.
