Ellen Grubbs Herring, 74, of 410 East Trade St., Calypso, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held by the graveside on Wednesday morning at 11 at Calypso Cemetery in Calypso. The Rev. J. Paul Rose will officiate.
Mrs. Herring was the daughter of the late H.E. and Olivia Pickett Grubbs and the widow of Jack P. Herring. She retired as a teacher in the North Duplin Schools.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Mike and Brenda Herring of Winterville and Steve and Gail Herring of Calypso; four grandchildren, Travis Herring, Ashley Herring, Adam Herring and Joshua Herring; and a sister, Joan Grubbs Jeanette of Calypso.
The family will receive friends today from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
