DORIS E. SINGLETON

Died March 24, 2006

Doris E. "Dot" Singleton, 84, of Goldsboro died last Friday.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Wingfield officiating. The family will remain afterward to greet friends. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Singleton was originally from the Washington, D.C., area and retired as a United States Postal employee. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley G. Singleton, and is survived by two daughters, Sharon E. Clagett and husband, Johnny, of Accokeek, Md., and Gail Luckett and husband, Mike Byers, of Pikeville; five grandchildren, Jeff and Dionyssia Clagett, John Clagett, Christina and Mike Barbour, Grey Luckett and Graham Luckett; her sister-in-law, Mary Singleton Capps, and husband, Leon, of Goldsboro, and their children, Jim, Wes, Bob Singleton and their families; and Ken and Deb Bartlett and their family.

Donations in Mrs. Singleton's memory may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533; or to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
