SMITHFIELD -- Clifton Rose Benson, 86, of Galilee Road, died Thursday.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Mr. Benson was a Johnston County native and a retired farmer. His parents were the late Zealus and Kitty Braswell Benson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Allene Stewart Benson.
He is survived by his wife, Leta Stephenson Benson; two daughters, Gale Williams and Judy Aycock of Smithfield; two stepdaughters, Susan Johnson of Four Oaks and Sharon Rose of Mebane; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 on Saturday night at Underwood Funeral Home.
