HARRY L. MORRIS JR.

Goldsboro native Harry Lee Morris Jr., 60, died Tuesday at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, Va.
He was the son of the late Julia Carter Morris and Harry Lee Morris Sr. and was a 1953 graduate of Goldsboro High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree from East Carolina University in 1957. He then entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a second lieutenant in 1959. In 1960 he took a position as the Fauquier County Planning and Zoning Administrator and the following year was named the Civil Defense Coordinator. He was also appointed to the committee on planning of the League of Virginia Counties, an organization which represents all Virginia counties and is dedicated to improving and preserving local government. He served as Vice President and President of the local Jaycees Chapter of Fauquier County. Mr. Morris retired from the Home Builders Institute in Washington, D.C., where he was a National Coordinator.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Pearson Morris; a daughter, Kimberly Faye Bradley of Southern Shores, N.C.; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service was held on Monday, March 20, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment was at Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, Va.
